Heading 3
about me
Who am I?
What am I about?

I'm about 5'3.

All right, I know that's not what you wanted to know. While I take my work and commitments very seriously I rarely take myself so. I have no interest in branding myself. I believe in just being me and letting my work speak for itself. I still like to put my best work and ideas first of course but what you see on this site is the real deal, flaws and all.

I have many eclectic interests. Too many to list one as a passion. If I'm passionate about something it's honesty, respect, and open communication. Assuming, guessing, and pretending are time eaters. If I can do it I will say so. If I can't I will say that too. If I haven't done it before but believe I could, I will let you know. I have yet to turn down a project because I couldn't make it work.
How I work

Every photo retoucher has their own tricks of the trade and approach that works for them. Many people like to use quick keys and high tech automation to do as much of the manipulation as possible. This is often a very effective way to process a large amount of images and saves an enormous amount of time. In some cases however, when more complicated manipulations are needed, quick selections and overall adjustments won't give you the results you need.
This is where I come in!

I look at images like a layered painting. I manually select objects, create layers instead of masks, and use a combination of tool techniques to digitally paint and piece together the changes needed.

This process has allowed me to do things that others felt they couldn't such as: change black basketball shoes to bright yellow, switch textures on casual sneakers, and tie laces on shoes when they were previously hanging straight.
How I play

An introvert by nature, most of my pursuits are solo ventures but any time I can explore something new with someone I can learn from I try to take full advantage.

I like working with my hands and gardening is top on the list. There is something about the experimentation and play with colors and textures as I dig my hands in the soil that fills me with joy. There is also the spontaneous and unexpected present of something that you thought was dead and hopeless springing back the next season better than before.

Other things I enjoy include: attending sporting events (Go Pack Go!), photography, rock hunting on Lake Superior's coastline, reading, repurposing curb finds, and exploring backroads without GPS. Learning about cultures, history, and geographical wonders via books, documentaries, and visiting sites is also something I greatly enjoy.
